We use Rosetta to design proteins in which non-canonical amino acids provide functions that would be difficult to achieve using naturally occurring amino acids alone.
Research Description
Our major research focuses include the design of proteins that contain fluorogenic or fluorescent non-canonical amino acids. We engineer proteins that serve as fluorescent reporters of protein-protein, protein-small molecule and protein-metal interactions. Additional interests include the design of novel functional metalloproteins and enzymes.
