rosetta 3.3 installation error on ubuntu 11.10

hi everyone;

Hard time installing rosetta on ubuntu 11.10.
different problems, very frustrating.

Linux 3.0
ubuntu 11.10
python 2.7
gcc 4.6

Here is the recent one；

/tmp/ccIDDP8t.s: Assembler messages:

This isn’t one I’ve ever seen before. I use:

GCC 4.6.1
Ubuntu 11.10 (64 bit, not 32), which is kernel 3.0
python 2.7.2

I’ve never seen an “assembler error” – I assume this is occurring relatively early in compilation? Before linking?

Do other programs compile using this computer? Do older editions of Rosetta compile? Did you put 4.6 in the options.settings file?
